Afghanaid works directly with communities listening and responding to their needs and involving them in the development of our programmes. We believe in passing on skills and knowledge so that our work is sustainable in the long term benefitting as any people as possible.
We try to reach those individuals who are the most marginalised and who receive the least help. That is why many of our programmes run in remote rural locations.
After 3 decades of war the rebuilding process is a long term issue.

£3 a month (£36 a year) buys a stationery kit (pens, paper and brief case) fr one teacher and improves the quality of education for Afghan children for the long-term. |

£6 a month (or £72) provides 3-4 kinds of seeds and tools necessary to establish a kitchen garden for one household and improve household nutrition for the long-run. |

£30 buys 10 books fro a children's resource centre library adn increases teh general knowledge of Afghan children in the community. |

£30 a month, trains one woman in food preservation and processing, including training material leading to a source of income for her and her family |

£50 buys a hand operated sewing machine and material to provide tailoring training for one woman which enables her to earn a regular income |

£100 enables an elder, widow or orphan allows six women to start a small home based enterprise |
