Fundraising at Universities

In March, two groups of the University of Westminster students organised events to raise money for Afghanaid. Thanks to their amazing commitment and hard work, they managed to raise the impressive amount of £950 and £135,28 respectively.

Dinner & Dance Disco

The students prepared the dance for Afghanaid as a part of their Developing a Small Business project. The planning started in January and included deciding on a theme, venue, costs, flyers and specific tasks for each member of the group. This amazing event took place on the 25th March at the Ashiana Banqueting Hall in Hounslow. The group decided to sell the tickets mostly to their friends and families and provided them with the evening of great food and fun! As one of the students happens to be a DJ, Nasha Entertainment took care of the music which was a massive success. There were also prizes to win for the best dressed and best dancers.

After a very successful night, the team was happy with the result and everyone left the venue satisfied. The food was brilliant, the security had everything under control and the entertainment was absolutely amazing! Additionally, many people have been asking when the next Dinner and Dance will be.

If you enjoy music and food why not put on an event in your home or community - take a look at our organise and event page  for more information.

Apples for Afghanaid

This dedicated group sold cookies, apples, cakes and brownies in the Marylebone campus of the University of Westminster on the 18th March. From sales and donations they raised £135,28!

 Apples for Afganistan

This is a really simple way of raising money for Afghanaid, so if you fancy trying your hand at being a market vendor, or if your place of work / place of worship has an area where you could sell cakes, give it a go! You'll find tasty apple recipes to make your event Afghan-themed in our Apples for Afghanistan packs, available from our Apples for Afghanistan page.
