Ezra Axelrod presents: Wanderlust
featuring the Raven String Quartet
Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival
Riverside Studios (Hammersmith)
August 19th, 8:40PM
£6 tickets at http://www.tete-a-tete.org.uk/wanderlust/
Wanderlust takes the audience on a musical journey that transcends geography and genre, exploring the diverse song-writing traditions that inspire singer-composer-pianist Ezra Axelrod’s unique music. From the haunting refrains of Ravel chants to the nostalgic poetry of Argentine tango, from the twang of bluegrass to the swirling guitar riffs of Wolof folk song, Wanderlust finds the common thread that connects these disparate sounds: a yearning for the unattainable. Audiences travel through a landscape of newly arranged world music, arriving at a finale of Axelrod’s original songs. Featuring the critically acclaimed Raven String Quartet. All proceeds will be donated to Afghanaid.
