Afghanaid is an international charity that operates only in Afghanistan. We work alongside Afghans in the most remote and marginalised areas of Afghanistan, to help them meet their survival and development needs.

Afghanaid is always on the lookout for volunteers. We run a number of events and collections throughout the year and welcome individuals who are able to give their time.

London & The UK
At Afghanaid we value any time you are able to give to help us raise money for poor Afghans. There are many ways in which you can help us. Afghanaid has different internship opportunities throughout the year.
Currently we are recruiting for:
- Fundraising Intern (London-based) for 3 days per week for 6 months (May to October). A full description of the opportunty can be downloaded here. Cover letter and CV should be submitted to Amanda Curley at amanda@afghanaid.org.uk no later than 18 April 2013 at 17.00 GMT.

Bucket collections - we hold bucket collections at London Tube Stations throughout the year. Contact pamela@afghanaid.org.uk or +44 (0)20 7065 0825 to find out when the next will be.
General Events - Helping to sell merchandise, collect tickets and talk about Afghanaid at film showings, book launches, lectures etc.
Hosting your own event - we have information packs available on how to set up your own Apples for Afghanistan Party, Musical Event or Green Tea Party. Packs are available on our organise an event page.
Merchandise stalls and Christmas festivals - Afghanaid has range of merchandise such as books, CDs, DVDs and Afghan jewellery and embroidered items made by Afghan women refugees in Pakistan. Contact pamela@afghanaid.org.uk for more information.
Charity Challenges - Volunteer your time by taking on a challenge and raise money for Afghanaid. We have places on the London Marathon, New York Marathon, BUPA 10,000 race and Silverstone Half Marathon as well as treks around the world. Visit our challenge events page for more information.
Overseas
Afghanaid does not employ volunteers overseas as we have a policy of recruiting local Afghan staff. In general Afghanaid tends not to place expatriates in Afghanistan unless we are unable to find an Afghan to fill the post: over 95% of our staff are Afghan.
