Ensemble Laudetsi consists of three friends and Rubab players Mathieu Clavel, Phelan Burgoyne and Maria Papadimitraki who met and began playing together following a seminar of Afghan music held by eminent Master musician Daud Khan Sadozai in Crete in the summer of 2017.

The Rubab - the national instrument of Afghanistan - is a plucked lute carved made from Mulberry wood with its own rich history and tradition dating into ancient history.

Expect a dazzling array of musical styles and colours reflective of the diversity of Afghanistan itself and experience something rarely heard.

This special charity concert for Afghanaid will be hosted by Afghan music expert, Rubab player and chair of the RAI's ethnomusicology committee Professor John Baily.
