Afghanaid Presents: Afghanistan's Next Generation

Up next in our 'Conversations with Afghanaid' series, we'll be joined by Dr Sarah Fane (MCC Foundation Director), Zainab Hussaini (Afghanistan Country Manager, Skateistan), and Raheem Javid (Founder and Director of Children's Museum of Science and Technology, Kabul) to discuss the importance of inclusive initiatives for young people in Afghanistan as a tool to empower, bridge divides and build brighter futures. Meet the Speakers

Dr Sarah Fane is the Director of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Foundation, and founded Afghan Connection, a charity that supported education and sport opportunities in rural areas of Afghanistan. Afghan Connection funded 46 school constructions that serve more than 75,000 children, built cricket pitches in schools, coached teachers and students, and provided cricket kit and runs tournaments with the aim of strengthening communities and reducing intolerance.

Zainab Hussaini is the Afghanistan country director for Skateistan, the award winning international non-profit which empowers children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. The organisation focuses predominantly on children who are ordinarily excluded from education and sport opportunities, especially girls, children living with disabilities and those from low-income backgrounds.

Raheem Javid is the Director of the Children's Museum of Science and Technology, Kabul, a centre founded with the aim of introducing hands on, creative, innovative and interactive learning through sharing scientific knowledge.
