Here's what you need to know!

On Sunday 3 October, the Virgin Money London Marathon is set to be the world's first 100,000-person marathon, with 50,000 participants in a virtual event around the globe joining 50,000 on the traditional course from Blackheath to The Mall.

For the virtual participants, the objective is simple: complete 26.2 miles in 24-hours, your way, from wherever you are in the world. Upload the evidence and you'll receive an official London Marathon finisher's medal and T-Shirt!

How to join The Big Walk Team

To join Afghanaid's #BigWalk today, pledge to walk 26.2 miles on Sunday 3rd October 2021, and commit to fundraise £200 for men, women and children in remote Afghanistan. It's that simple!

There is a £28 registration fee for UK-based team members, and £38 for international team members.

37-year-old Benafsha lives with her five children in Nayabe Gahrbi, a remote rural village in the north of Afghanistan. After enrolling on one of our courses, she is using her new skills to lift her family out of poverty. 

"Now I am able to feed my children and provide them with all the basic things I couldn’t afford before, like clothes and medicine. I am happy now and I can see my children are too."
