In February of 2021 Fonzie at the age of 5 became the youngest ever person to do a triathlon to raise money for Afghanaid. He was so moved by seeing a news item on the BBC about starving children in Afghanistan that he decided to do something to help. His Afghan mountaineer friend, Freshta Ibrahimi inspired him to take on the challenge. He managed to raise over £3000.

He is aware that now things are even more desperate in Afghanistan and that half the population are facing starvation. He is determined to do another fundraising event to help - but this time not alone. His three-year-old brother Rocco will be joining him.

At 7492 metres, Noshaq is the tallest mountain in Afghanistan. On the 22nd July they will begin a seven-day challenge of climbing the 10 tallest peaks in the North Yorkshire Moors. This will total the same height as Noshaq. At the top of every peak they will fly a traditional Afghan Kite in solidarity with Afghans all around the world. At just six and three years of age this is an enormous feat of endurance. They find it hard to understand how children in other parts of the world are starving, but realise the great importance of helping those less fortunate. Any sponsorship to encourage them up these peaks so Afghanaid can continue their vital work will be greatly appreciated by the lads.
