This year, I have decided to raise money to help those in need in Afghanistan by running and walking 150 miles in September for my 30th.

After not being able to exercise as much this year, for a number of reasons, it is now time to get moving more again whilst raising money for those in need in Afghanistan.

Afghanaid is a British humanitarian and development organisation. For close to forty years, their dedicated personnel have worked with millions of deprived and excluded families in some of the poorest and most remote communities in Afghanistan. They build basic services, improve livelihoods, strengthen the rights of women and children, help communities protect against natural disasters and adapt to climate change, and respond to humanitarian emergencies.

Right now, donations will go towards delivering emergency support to families whose lives have been destroyed or uprooted by the conflict. This includes providing emergency shelter or financial support so families can keep a roof over their heads; kitchen kits so that they can cook and safely store food; blankets and the support they need to heat their homes and keep their families warm; hygiene kits including laundry soap and hand soap; items such as solar powered lamps, stoves and gas cylinders; emergency food parcels.

Raising £39 will pay for double-sided blankets to keep a family warm; £58 will buy a kitchen and hygiene kit so they can keep clean, healthy and safe; £500 will provide emergency shelter for 5 families who have lost their homes. Raising £200 would cover the costs of a good quality temporary shelter for a family that would last through a year, as well as a kitchen and hygiene kit for them to use.

If you would like more information, feel free to ask me questions or check out

I will keep you all updated of my running/walking journey throughout September.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Much love x
