For farmers like Mohammad (pictured) living in remote rural Afghanistan, finding food over the winter months is a daily struggle for survival.

Farming families like these are amongst the most vulnerable people in the world to climate change and extreme weather. Indeed, increasingly harsh winters, droughts and flash-floods are having devastating effects on the natural resources on which they rely.

That’s where you come in. You can #FeedTheFuture and help farming families survive and thrive.

These farmers will not give up. And neither will we. With our support, they're finding innovative ways to overcome these challenges, and adapt to the realities of climate change and an ever-changing and unpredictable world.

One way they can reduce their vulnerability is by diversifying what they grow and introduce simple but effective ways to get through the extreme weather that now inevitably comes with each season. They need your help to achieve this.

You can give hope to someone like Mohammad, who may otherwise have been forgotten.

By giving them the opportunity to learn new skills, you will enable these farmers to provide their families with better nutrition and, ultimately, a stronger and brighter future.

2019 continued to be an incredibly challenging year for Afghan families. As people demonstrated intense determination and resilience to recover from the previous year’s drought and the unusually harsh winter, sadly the conflict intensified, thousands more civilians lost their lives – more than those killed in the Syrian and Yemeni conflicts combined – and tens of thousands more were forced to flee their homes in search of safety.

This year, the people of Afghanistan continue to need your support to turn their determination into an opportunity, to make real change for themselves and their communities.

Together we've already achieved a lot - in the last two years we've provided 78,000 farming families with vital agriculture and livestock support! Our plans for this new decade are bigger than ever. We're asking for you to give a helping hand to more vulnerable families, so together we can build a brighter future for the people of Afghanistan.
