2 years on from the Taliban takeover, the situation in Afghanistan remains challenging. Described by the UN as ‘the worst humanitarian crisis in the world’, Afghanistan is currently ravaged by soaring figures of food insecurity, a collapsing economy and a tightened grip around women’s freedoms.

Sadly, the global media doesn’t shine its light on these issues despite the record figure of 29.2 million people in the country requiring humanitarian assistance this year.

Running for Afghanaid will not only raise awareness of the situation, but will show the women of Afghanistan that they haven’t been forgotten about.

Any donation will go a long way in ensuring that the support from Afghanaid can reach rural women to fulfil their potentials as they adapt to an increasingly strict society.
