Men, women and children in Afghanistan continue to face one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, with the UN reporting that 23.7 million people are currently in need of humanitarian assistance. The Executive Director of the World Food Programme describes the situation as being "as bad as you possibly can imagine."

In 2023, Afghanaid reached over 1.5 million men, women and children with emergency support. Given the intensity of humanitarian needs, it is vital that we continue to act urgently to save lives, prevent starvation and protect families against a further catastrophic humanitarian disaster. Read about what Afghanaid has been doing and what we have achieved so far.

How can you help people in Afghanistan?

We are asking for your help to urgently provide:

  • emergency food parcels or cash for food;
  • kitchen kits so that families can cook and safely store food;
  • hygiene kits including towels, laundry soap and hand soap;
  • items such as solar powered lamps, stoves and gas cylinders;
  • emergency cash to cover a family's most urgent needs and reduce reliance on loans;
  • the long-term support they need to recover and rebuild their lives.
