People living in Afghanistan are familiar with coping under challenging, extreme conditions. Nonetheless, right now they desperately need your support to get through the COVID-19 crisis. The virus poses a pervasive threat to a country already struggling, and places even more pressure on infrastructure that has already been weakened by enduring conflict and increasingly frequent natural disasters.

This is an opportunity to use your free time to support the people of Afghanistan through this crisis - and be part of an incredible team: Afghanaid's At Home Heroes.

How can I be a hero?

From the comfort of your own home, you can help lift people's spirits whilst spreading awareness of why this Coronavirus is threatening for Afghanistan, and ensuring that we can help the most vulnerable.

Your heroic activities are constrained only by the limits of your imagination. All we ask is that you get involved - what you do, who you do it with, and how you do it is entirely up to you.

Getting started is simple - just follow the 3 steps below:

1. Pick your pursuit

Take your pick from our selection of pursuits, or come up with your own. From dancing, to cooking, to running, you can get involved however you like. The only rule is to make sure you stay safe and have fun!

Browse our selection of heroic pursuits

2. Set up a fundraising page

If you want to raise money alongside your heroic pursuits, the easiest way to do this is directly on our website.

Thinking of live-streaming your pursuit? Tiltify is a great platform for this. Questions? Fire away.

3. Spread the word

Use the hashtag

The key with social media is to post regularly and keep people updated on what you're up to. Whatever you're doing - make sure you take photos or videos or yourself doing it and share it online using the relevant hashtag.

Tell us what you're up to

However you decide to get involved, we really can't thank you enough! The very least we can do is help you promote your heroic activities. If you email [email protected] we can share your story and even feature you in our newsletters or on our website. You can also tag us on social media - find us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Use your story

As well as sharing Afghanaid's story, let people know why you're supporting us, and what this means to you.

Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to get involved by nominating them to go next - everyone can be a hero! Direct them to pick their pursuit if they don't fancy getting involved in the same way as you.

Thank you!
