Every year on 8th March, International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, people across the world are choosing to challenge the status quo and this is even more meaningful in Afghanistan, one of the world's most difficult places to be a woman.

This year, we're marking International Women’s Day by celebrating the wonderful women we work with across Afghanistan, the men who support them, our staff who work closely with them and you, who make this all possible. We're bringing women together in a free live event, and asking you to get involved in our 16.9 challenge.

Together, we can #ChooseToChallenge and make a real difference to the lives of women across Afghanistan. Join us as we strike the pose #ChooseToChallenge - send us your pose photos directly, or tag us on social media.
