The Oxford Storytelling Circle is a space where stories are shared to build connections between people of different ages and backgrounds - binding us across cultures and geographical borders. Members of the circle range from professional performers to educators, or sometimes both! At this event we will be joined by Ifor Rhys, Lorna Burchell, Adele Moss and Georgie Steele.

This special in aid of Afghanaid event provides a rare opportunity to hear a variety of traditional Afghan folktales, both humorous and wise. Expect to be transported to other lands and times. Titles include Prince Mahsud & King Rat, The Unforgettable Sneeze and The Well-Digger & the Deev.

The stories will be complemented by musical interludes by Phelan Burgoyne, playing traditional Afghan instrument the Rubab, and there will also be a reading of a famous Amina Shah poem.

A selection of refreshments by donation will also be available, as well as gift stall and project update from Afghanaid.

Tickets £12.50. To enquire email [email protected]
