A staple Afghan tea, Kahwah is mild and fragrant, and recipes tend to differ from family to family. Level-up your afternoon tea break and give this delicious saffron-infused blend a try.

Serves: 4 cups                                                         Cook time: 10 minutes

4 cups of water

3 teaspoons green tea

4 cardamom pods, cracked

4 strands of saffron

1/2 inch piece of cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar or honey

Add the cardamom pods, cinnamon, and sugar to the water and bring it to a boil. Allow to stay at a boil for 5 minutes and then remove from the hob.

Add the green tea and saffron, put a lid on the pot and allow to brew for 3 minutes. The saffron will make the liquid a light orange colour. Strain into a teapot, and serve - we think Goash-E-Feel are the perfect accompaniment.
