Ingredients

110 g onions

3 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed

900 g best minced beef or lamb

Salt & Pepper

1 tsp chilli powder to taste

Chapatis

Handful of fresh mint and coriander to garnish

Lemon wedges

Method

1. Mince the onions and mix thoroughly with the garlic and meat, adding salt, pepper and chilli powder.

2. Continue mixing well with the hand until the mixture becomes sticky.

3. Wet your hand with water and mould the mixture round the kebab skewers to form the kebabs about 10 cm long and 2.5 cm in diametre.

4. Press on to the skewers firmly so that they will hold. Smooth the kebabs carefully with your wet hand.

5. Preheat the grill / get the barbecue going. Grill the kebabs on a high heat. When brown on both sides, if using oven turn down heat to medium and grill turning frequently for 15 minutes more. If using barbecue keep turning until meat is cooked through.

6. Remove carefully from the skewers and serve on the chapatis. Sprinkle with a little salt, pepper and chilli powder and garnish with herbs and lemon wedges.

7. They taste great with a mixed salad and Chutni Nahna - Enjoy!
