Here at Afghanaid, we love to collaborate with different organisations and individuals to celebrate and platform aspects of Afghanistan and its vibrant culture that people are not ordinarily confronted with. As part of this, we've been hosting live conversations exploring everything Afghanistan: from tea, to rugs, to the rubab.
Join us on our journey to celebrate everything Afghan, and be sure to let us know if you have any events coming up that you'd like us to get involved with!
For the next instalment in our 'Conversations with Afghanaid' series, we were joined by Dr Sarah Fane (MCC Foundation Director), Zainab Hussaini (Afghanistan Country Manager, Skateistan), and Raheem Javid (Children's Museum of Science and Technology, Kabul) to discuss the importance of innovative and inclusive initiatives for young people in Afghanistan.
On Sunday 2nd August, we held a live discussion with Durkhanai Ayubi (Parwana Restaurant and Recipe Book), Mursal Saiq (Cue Point Restaurant) and Kobrah Nawrozzadeh (The Afghan Tea Company), exploring the role of nostalgia and innovation through Afghanistan's vibrant cuisine. Watch the recording!
On Thursday 18th June, we enjoyed a fascinating panel discussion with Lauren Braithwaite, Zarifa Adiba, Professor John Baily and Ziba Tabrizi, exploring the importance of preserving, platforming and celebrating Afghan music & dance culture.
Thank you to everyone who tuned in to our Live Panel event with ISHKAR and The Afghan Rug Shop. Missed it? Here's the recording for you to enjoy.
